What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy?
ABA is a scientific and systematic approach to teach socially significant behaviors, improve communication, and learn skills through positive reinforcement. ABA therapy is based on learning and behavior. It is the "how to" of teaching skills to help our learners increase independence and functional communication. ABA is composed of different components that facilitate skill acquisition and increase the ability to maintain those skills over an extended period of time. ABA can be used in a formal teaching setting and in the natural environment.

Believe Autism offers a wide range of consultation services. Consultation services are provided to assist with understanding autism, behavior services, and what best practice is for children on the autism spectrum.

ABA interventions require a demonstration of the events that are responsible for the occurrence, or non-occurrence, of behavior. ABA uses methods of analysis that yield convincing, reproducible, and conceptually sensible demonstrations of how to accomplish specific behavior changes (Baer & Risley, 1987). Moreover, these behaviors are evaluated within relevant settings such as schools, homes and the community. The use of single case experimental design to evaluate the effectiveness of individualized interventions is an essential component of programs based upon ABA methodologies.
